When it comes to songwriting, Kayla draws inspiration from songwriters like Patty Griffin and Tracy Chapman, with her folk-inspired songs that pull you in and remind you of the profound, yet painful human experience.

“Village” is a song about hope, striving towards radical change and justice. “Liar” was written about coming to terms with the conflicting parts of yourself, who you once were alongside who you are working towards becoming.
